During Mayor McKinley Price’s State of the City Address, he announced that if the U.S. Department of Energy chooses Jefferson Lab for a $1 billion ion collider, Newport News has plenty of land to accommodate it. Jefferson Lab in Newport News is competing with a lab in New York to be the site of the collider.
